The Band is disappointed to announce that Derek Broadbent is no longer able to lead the Band at the forthcoming North of England Championships in Darlington, this Sunday. The Band thanks Derek for his immense contribution and efforts to date and hopes that we are able to work together again in the very near future. We wish Derek every success in the future.
In the meantime, we are pleased to inform supporters that our Resident Conductor, Jason Smith, will now be taking the band to the contest. Jason has played an important role in preparing the band and had been due to play Second Euphonium, with Lynne Griffiths now stepping into that role. The band would like to thank both Jason and Lynne for stepping into their new roles at such late notice.
