Westoe Band played the inaugural concert during the offical re-opening of the Band Stand in South Marine Park.  It was a bitter and windy Thursday morning but about 300 people, including local primary school children attended the civic ceremony.

The Bandstand was used by all the local bands including Harton Colliery who won the 1919 British Open Championship and St Hilda's Band.

For the record, it was a 13 piece band that turned out, a big thank you to our deps Brian (Euphonium) and Dan(Bass).
