Westoe Band members are a dedicated group of musicians and very welcoming of new players.

The band rehearse Tuesday evenings 7:30 till 9:30 and Sunday evenings 7:00 - 9:00 with the intention of producing the best possible performances both in the band room and public.

If you are local to South Tyneside or moving to the North East, perhaps starting University in Newcastle and want to continue your banding do contact us and come along for a blow.

We are currently looking for a Bb Bass Player, Soprano Cornet Player and a Percussionist to complete our line-up.

You might be wondering if Westoe Band is the right “match” for your banding, both in terms of commitment and ability.  Looking at our engagement list you will not see many contests, it is an exceptional year when we do more than three.  When we do a contest, we will have three / four rehearsals in the week prior plus sectionals with the aim of putting the best possible performance onto the stand.  We are definitely not the sort of band that travels two hundred miles to play an “own choice” test piece in the quest for ranking points.

However, we are a First section band and our regular players will be performing at the 2011 Northern Regionals.  The expectation is that all players will attend two rehearsals each week.
